What information should I expect in a CV?
In most cases, employers will request a CV from candidates as an initial step in the recruitment process. When receiving these CVs, you can expect the standard CV fields from our applicants. This may include:
- A professional summary
- Employment history
- Education
- Skills
- Certifications
- Contact information
- References, if applicable.
However, please bear in mind that CVs are not ‘one size fits all’. At the same time, CVs may not be the best way for all of our candidates to show their qualities and skills.
Some candidates may have employment gaps due to personal circumstances, such as caring responsibilities or their health. Others may have experienced more limited career progression or unconventional career pathways due to the workplace barriers they have faced. This should not disqualify them from your consideration.
In these instances, you should consider why a candidate might have employment gaps. They may share additional information explaining why, but they may not feel comfortable doing so.
